This page is for those educators involved in establishing and providing Technical Skills Workshops.
Technical Skills Workshops are one of the compulsory components of the Recertification Programme. Participation in the Recertification Programme enables registered midwives to demonstrate that they are competent to practise within the Midwifery Scope of Practice and thereby satisfy the Midwifery Council that they meet the standards in order to be issued with an annual practising certificate. The full Recertification Programme can be viewed on another page of this website. Click here to link to it. As part of the Recertification Programme, every midwife is required to complete a Technical Skills Workshop once in each three year period.
The Midwifery Council has defined the content of Technical Skills Workshops for the period 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2014. Courses will need to be sent to the Midwifery Council for approval.
